Starting price to perform smoke test as means of diagnostics to look for source of smell in master bathroom shower. May have to cut Sheetrock if smoke is coming from walls which true plumbing is not responsible for repairing any cut walls. Cannot guarantee source will be found with this method especially due to smell seemingly emanating from a fully tiled in shower. — Returned to complete estimate on smoke test. I could smell the stench, almost a mildew/sewer gas smell. I pulled the toilet and performed a smoke test, using 6 smoke test bombs. Each time, I did not see any smoke omitting from anywhere. Smoke was escaping from the vent on the roof as it should. My best guess is it is a shower pan issue, with holding water, and each time water is running it “activates” the smell. Possibly some pockets of water in the pan if it’s not properly sloped. Recommended restoration company to examine with special equipment

Upon arrival at the residence, we investigated a potential mainline sewer backup issue. The customer reported that the lowest floor toilet and bathtub were overflowing with sewage, and water was seeping from under the toilet, possibly due to plunger use causing water to breach the wax ring. After presenting available options, the customer authorized drain cleaning services. We initially attempted flex shaft drain cleaning through the crawl space cleanout, but this proved unsuccessful. A camera inspection revealed the drain was completely filled with standing water and encountered a significant obstruction approximately halfway down the hill. We located the camera head at only two feet deep and excavated to expose what we discovered was a broken cleanout with extensive root intrusion that had completely clogged the PVC drain line. Given the late hour, we broke apart the cleanout to provide immediate relief to the sewer system, concluding day one of service. On day two, we further expo
Arrived at property to inspect multiple items. Homeowner stated that toilets are making a high-pitched noise when flushed. Expected both toilets and toilet fill valves will need replaced. Proceeded to check pressure to residence. Water pressure is 89 PSI. This is considered high-pressure and current pressure regulator valve (PRV) will need replaced. Valve is located behind drywall in downstairs area. Adjusted pop up assembly plug in upstairs lavatory bathroom. Pop up was not staying shut when lever has been pulled up. Adjusted pop-up assembly and tested. Pop-up assembly is working properly. Please refer to attached estimate for full scope of work for recommended repairs on all other items. Note: Replacement lavatory faucet must be an 8” spread faucet for installation.
Water leaking from behind water heater onto the kitchen ceiling below. Found the leak to be on a poorly soldered 90 degree fitting. Removed a section of drywall behind the water heater to repair the leak and inspect for further leaks. No other leaks were found at this time. Repaired leaking section of copper water line. Checked for leaks. True Plumbing does not repair drywall. Water pressure is at 40 psi. Water heater is only 7 years old. However, it is showing signs of corrosion/failure on the outside of the tank. Customer called with the issue being a leak in the underground slab located in laundry room. Customer already have different contractor diagnose and confirm leak is underground. Used thermal image to isolate area where we suspect the leak is located. Used jack hammer and concrete breaking equipment to excavate small area on tile floor. Concrete was very thick in some spots being 12” thick. Got access to the 1/2” hot water line. Located pinhole leak in copper pipe. Cut out small section of the copper pipe, and made repair with new pipe and repair couplings. Restored water and bled air out of the system. Verified no additional leaks under the slab. Repoured concrete and cleaned area.
Inspected kitchen faucet for replacement. Water pressure to the home is at 78 psi. There is currently no thermal expansion tank. Recommended installing a thermal expansion tank. **The existing venting for the water heater/furnace has a significant crack in it. This is a significant safety hazard. Highly recommended customer have an HVAC company replace the cracked wye connection as soon as possible. True Plumbing waived dispatch fee.
1/8/26 Customer called about a broken disposal. TP arrived and tested disposal. Water leaked immediately from base of unit. Replaced disposal with a 1/2 HP garbage disposal. Replaced collar as well. Tested for leaks. NO Leaks, and left sink in kitchen is fully operational.
1/6/26 Follow up on customer after TP conducted work on 9/2/25. Customer is experiencing periodic sewer smell in basement. Located source to be in basement bathroom. Inspected drains underneath vanity and found them to be installed improperly. Advise to rework vanity drains to correct smell, and to routinely pour water into shower drain.
Customer experienced a stoppage a few days ago. However, there has been no issues since. Performed a sewer scope and found that the building drain/sewer near the foundation of the home is backsloped and is is holding some water for roughly 20’. The sewer line does not appear to be stopped at this time. Recommended repairing section of the sewer line. If toilets or drains bubble or gurgle recommended customer stop use of drains as this is an indication of a stoppage. Sealed around sewage basin with sealant to help prevent sewer gases from coming from the basin.
