Helping Atlanta’s Unhoused Community Through Compassion and Clean Water
At True Plumbing, giving back to the community is an important part of who we are. This Thanksgiving, we’re proud to launch our new True 💚ATL initiative with a $1,000 donation to our longtime neighbors at Hope Thru Soap.
Our gift will help provide mobile showers, meals, and dignity to Atlanta’s unhoused population at a time when community care is needed most.
A Neighborly Partnership That Makes a Difference
As Thanksgiving approaches and SNAP benefits pause for over 1.3 million Georgians, many families and individuals are feeling the impact. That’s why True Plumbing wanted to take action right here at home.
“We appreciate every donation we receive, but it’s even more meaningful to have a neighbor that supports our mission,” said Megan VandeBogert, executive director of Hope Thru Soap. “This donation will provide for haircuts, meals, and showers — but more than that, it restores dignity and hope in a time of stress for those who rely on SNAP benefits.”
Founded in 2016, Hope Thru Soap has already provided more than 6,000 showers and 51,000 hot meals to Atlantans experiencing homelessness. Each week, the nonprofit hosts outreach events that combine basic services with food, music, and community connection.
Why True 💚ATL Starts with Hope Thru Soap
True Plumbing founder and Master Plumber Ryan Hanson says starting the campaign with Hope Thru Soap was an easy choice.
“We are proud to support their mission of providing for the basic human needs of Atlanta’s unhoused community. Mobile showers — how great of an idea is that? I’m a plumber, of course I appreciate a mobile bathroom.”
And yes — when Hope Thru Soap’s team needs a hand keeping their mobile restrooms running smoothly?
“You know we have! When our neighbors need us, we’re there,” Hanson added with a smile.
What Is “True 💚ATL”?
The True 💚ATL initiative is True Plumbing’s new giving program, designed to spotlight and support local nonprofits throughout the year — especially those that make Atlanta stronger.
By working alongside community organizations like Hope Thru Soap, True Plumbing hopes to inspire other local businesses to lend a hand, one act of kindness at a time.
