Name: Matt McCormick
Matthew was able to locate and repair a leak in my master bath. He and the young man who worked with him did an excellent job in finding the leak and fixing it. I am always very happy with True Plumbing.
Hard working, honest and thorough. He loves his profession and it is reflected in his work.
Matthew of True Plumbing arrived timely. He was very professional. He did a thorough investigation into a leak in my bathroom. He was very honest that he could not access the exact source of the leak and referred me to a restoration company to take a closer look. I have used True Plumbing for many years and am always very pleased with the service and the quality of the work.

A couple of years ago we contacted True after reading positive reviews about them. After calling them for our latest issue It is nice to see that they have maintained their reputation. The servicemen that worked our job, Matt, Ryan and Mack for the second visit were polite, knowledgeable and quick. True was extremely efficient in resolving our issue. In spite of an unpleasurable problem True is a pleasure to work with.

Upon arrival, restoration company already pulled the vanity to see where leak was coming from. Tested the lavatory drain and water lines, no leaks. Flushed toilet 10 times and leak started to appear under the tile. Pulled the toilet and found the flange was the issue for the toilet. Flange and wax seal no longer holding a good seal. Removed old flange, cut pipe down, put down new concrete and installed new flange. Reset toilet and flushed several times, verified no leaks.
Inspection of sewer and drain line with manager on site. (Paul) Confirmed original diagnosis and confirmed plan on our proposed solution. Discounted camera inspection for today’s visit, and if quote is approved we will credit this charge back.
Using mini excavator, cut small piece of the side walk to access the sewer line. Use excavator to remove piece of side walk and excavate the sewer line from the front of the house, to approximately 5’ past the side walk. Replace cast iron pipe with new PVC pipe. Connect to existing ABS pipe, Install cleanout near the front of the home, Cover and compact soil upon completion. If the water service is original galvanized pipe and gets damaged in the process, repair is not possible and replacement of the water service line would be additional. Not responsible for landscape/bush/side walk repairs. If accepted, we can also replace the water heater as a discounted price. —- Returned to complete proposed work. While digging the sewer line, we discovered the water service original galvanized pipe. Customer approved replacing the water service line at the same time, we did so at a discounted rate. Updated estimate on water heater.
Furnish and install halo h20 ultimate. Includes new regulator valve. Reworked water lines to accommodate new filtration system. Painted the backer boards to blend into the area. Return on Thursday to insulate the pipes and to turn the filtration on after the soaking period.
Existing water heater no longer producing hot water. Due to the age, it was recommended to replace the heater. Furnish and installed new 50 gallon electric water heater. Includes new thermal expansion tank and shutoff valve. Restored water to the home and verified no leaks and everything operating as it should. Have a wonderful day
Customer had a leaking 1/2” gate valve. This valve isolated the hot side of the shower above. Recommended replacing both gate valves at the same time. Customer declined. Turned water off to the home and drained down the system. Cut out the old gate valve and installed new 1/2” ball valve. Restored water and verified no leaks and valve is operating as it should.
Provided estimate on sewer/drain repair
Customer has a very slow leak. Checked meter and it isn’t spinning, however it could still be a pinhole leak in the slab. Our concern is, it could also be a foundation issue since it’s a slab and the leak is appearing close to the exterior. Only way to properly assess, would be to pull the vanity and dry everything, then do additional diagnostic work. Recommended reliable restoration so they can use special equipment to see where leak is originating.
Customer recently experienced a main sewer stoppage. Pulled toilet on main floor and inspected drain line with camera. Within the first 5’ we do see a slight back slope in the drain pipe, but I don’t believe this is the main concern. Near the front door, in the hallway slab. There appears to be a make shift house trap. We believe this is where the stoppage was occuring. Customer also had a cleanout installed outside a few years ago. This cleanout has also settled, which is creating an issue. In order for us to properly quote this, we will need to calculate costs with additional contractors and restoration company. Once we’ve communicated with them we can provide an accurate estimate to complete the scope of work.
Camera inspection shows original cast iron drain pipe inside the slab of the home. Exits the home and then transitions to pvc pipe where the first cleanout near the house is. Then after this cleanout there is another short piece of cast iron pipe again, before transitioning back to PVC pipe. It is then pvc pipe all the way to the second cleanout near the street. Unknown why this cast iron pipe wasn’t replaced when it was originally excavated. At the cast iron to pvc connection at the first cleanout, took a picture where you can see a hole on the bottom of the cast iron pipe where it connects to pvc. Approximately 15’ away from the oak tree in yard, in the pvc pipe, we also took a photo of broken pvc pipe on top of the pipe. The cast iron drain pipe in the slab isn’t the worst we’ve seen, however, it is original to when the house was built. We can do a light hydro jet flush on it. But we don’t want to disrupt too much of the scale and rust, this can expedite more issues with the drai
Downstairs basement toilet running non stop. This is indicating the fill valve is failing. Due to numerous visits this year with customers toilets fill valves failing. And customer stated the regulator valve has never been replaced, i recommended proactively replacing the existing regulator valve, as multiple fill valves failing is a symptom of high water pressure. Furnish and installed new 3/4” pressure regulator valve (difficult access in a tight access panel) Basement toilet rebuild, Mansfield 3” flapper, new fill valve and supply
Provided second opinion on sewer inspection. Cast iron drain pipe inside the crawl space exits the home in front/near the front door and patio. Approximately 4/5’ deep. There is a root ball, and also what appears to be a broken pipe or separation just past the root intrusion. Due to the location and scope of work. I provided two different options. To make a proper repair to this sewer line, we will have to excavate and remove a section of the concrete side walk. Replace up to 20’ of piping outside and going into the crawl space. We will then connect to existing cast iron or concrete pipe outside the home and install a new cleanout. Due to the age and condition of this sewer line, I recommend replacing the entire line from the house to the street, along with the water service line as it is original galvanized water pipe and it will be in our way during excavation.
Installed customer supplied 3/4” water meter. The water meter was provided to us inside a Home Depot bag. With no paper work, box, or instructions. It has a wire connected to the meter that doesn’t appear to be compatible with the control panel on the wall. As noted to customer, true plumbing does not do any electrical work. Or control panel installation. Installed the new water meter and verified no leaks.
Customer has high water bill and suspect it’s coming from the front hose bibb. Customer recently has a different contractor install and isolation valve for the hose Bibb as well. I turned the water off at the main valve to the house, and inspected the meter. Water meter not indicating any leak. I removed the old hose bibb, and used hydraulic cement to seal the hole. Then in the crawl space, capped off the line servicing the front hose Bibb, after the isolation valve. Verified no leaks on the water service line.
Kitchen sink clogged. Both compartments of the kitchen sink were not draining Disassembled piping under the sink and removed a lot of debri. I then used the flex shaft machine and snaked approximately 20’ worth of pipe, removing a lot of build up. Reassembled the drain pipes, filled both compartments on the sink and verified its draining good.
County will return tomorrow to fix their portion of the sewer line
Customer had an old water heater that was leaking due to the age of the heater. This caused water to flood the closet in garage and water onto carpet on main floor of the home. Installed new 40 gallon gas water heater. Includes new shutoff valve and thermal expansion tank. Water pressure was right under 80 psi. Due to there being no regulator valve, we couldn’t warranty the new heater. Furnish and installed new 3/4” pressure regulator valve. Water heater warrantied for 6 years.
Free sewer line inspection per office. Provided estimate on sewer repair.
With tractor - excavate within 10’ of the county road. Approximately 4-6’ deep. Cut out section of sewer line and install cleanout. We will then use camera to inspect the remainder of the sewer line. Notice; if utilities are in the way for excavation, we will have to adjust price as necessary, we will bring to customers attention. If the sewer line is deeper than 6’ deep, this requires different safety equipment. Not responsible for damages to landscape or plants. —— Returned to complete proposed work. Gas utility line was directly in line with where the sewer line is. We had to carefully hand dig around these utilities in order to safely access the sewer pipe, Sewer line is 6” concrete pipe and had major root intrusion. We replaced with pvc pipe and installed a new cleanout. Replaced the sewer line to within 3’ of the county road. Looking down the sewer line we can still see more roots in the pipe. We’ve dug and replaced as much as we’re allowed to. Recommended contacting the city
Installed customer supplied Kohler Highline series toilet. Includes new wax ring and supply line. Toilet came with a broken toilet seat. Customer will return to Home Depot and swap out.
Main floor restroom, at end of hall way. Bathroom was experiencing a stoppage. Pulled toilet and used snake to clear stoppage. Stoppage caused by thick toilet tissue in the drain line. Verified everything open and draining as it should with camera. Recommended using different toilet tissue to avoid this issue. Reset toilet and flushed several times.
Main floor hall way bathroom - bathtub not draining. Took apart the overflow plate and used snake. Got the tub to drain. Filled up the tub several times and it is draining, however, I don’t think it’s draining as good as it should be. Looked at the drain down in the basement ceiling, and its old cast iron pipe original to when the house was built. Due to the condition of the pipe, I didn’t want to risk snaking it any further. Provided an estimate to replace the bathtub drain line.
Installed customer supplied faucet. Verified its operating as it should and no leaks. Customer paid via check
Furnish and install new 3/4” pressure regulator valve Furnish and installed new 3/4” whole house shutoff valve Furnish and install new shutoff valve for ice maker behind refrigerator. Furnish and installed new two new shutoff valves under kitchen sink and remove filter. If we cannot connect to existing kitchen faucet, new faucet would be have to be installed. Furnish and installed new Moen kitchen faucet. Restored water and verified everything operating as it should and no leaks. Referred reliable restoration for damages that occured.
Section off grass near the water meter. Dig hole in front of meter, make new connection to water meter and irrigation system. Inside washing machine room - cut sheet rock as necessary, drill new hole through foundation wall. Install new 1” PEX pipe from meter to inside house, Install new whole house shutoff valve and regulator valve. Connect to existing copper pipe. Cap off old copper pipe in basement mechanical room. Restore water and verify no leaks.
